About Nolimit City
We are Nolimit City, a video slot provider built on extreme volatility, dark narratives, and proprietary mechanics that no other studio replicates. Founded in 2014, we now operate across regulated markets worldwide with a catalog exceeding 100 titles.
Our Story
Jonas Tegman and Örpen Kisacikoglu founded Nolimit City in 2014 with a clear intention: to build slots that stand apart from the generic content flooding the market. Early releases like Creepy Carnival and Oktoberfest established the technical groundwork, but the studio’s identity crystallised later.
The 2019 release of Tombstone marked the turning point. We introduced the xNudge mechanic to the market with that title, and the response from players and operators confirmed the direction we had chosen. High volatility, dark themes, and proprietary feature systems became the template for everything that followed.
Between 2019 and 2022, we released some of the most discussed titles in the industry. San Quentin xWays delivered a 150,000x max win that shifted expectations for what a slot could offer. Mental pushed thematic boundaries further than any studio had attempted. Deadwood, Fire in the Hole xBomb, and Tombstone RIP each built on the previous release without repeating it. Every game told a story. Every math model pushed the volatility ceiling higher.
The industry took notice beyond player communities. We collected Provider of the Year and Game of the Year awards across multiple platforms in 2021, validating a creative strategy that many considered too risky when we started it.
Our Core Values
What Makes Our Games Different
Most slot providers chase broad appeal. We chose a narrower path deliberately. Our games target players who want mechanical depth, narrative weight, and volatility levels that the majority of the market will not deliver. Three principles shape every title we release:
- Narrative commitment. We build every game around a specific story with a clear visual identity and a win sequence that closes the narrative arc. Tombstone RIP depicts frontier brutality without softening. Mental constructs a genuine asylum atmosphere. The Crypt celebrates zombie rock legends with affection and a proper soundtrack. Each title earns its theme rather than wearing it as decoration;
- Mechanical innovation. Our proprietary xMechanic suite drives the gameplay distinction that operators and players associate with our brand. xWays expands winning ways dynamically per spin. xNudge builds wild multipliers through nudge steps. xSplit doubles symbol counts and upgrades scatters. xBomb clears adjacent symbols, and stacks win multipliers per detonation. These mechanics combine within single titles to produce math models competitors cannot replicate;
- Community connection. We publish win screenshots, engage with streamer communities, and maintain a player monument wall on our site. Our games generate organic discussion that most B2B studios never achieve, which turns players into brand advocates without traditional marketing spend.
Part of the Evolution Group
In 2022, Evolution AB acquired Nolimit City in a deal valued at up to £290 million. The acquisition validated the financial and creative strategy we had pursued since 2019 and gave us the infrastructure to scale into new regulated markets without compromising our development approach.
We operate as a wholly owned subsidiary within the Evolution Group. Our Stockholm-based creative and development teams retain independent decision-making over game design, theme selection, and math model construction. The acquisition accelerated our global rollout rather than redirecting it.
Since joining the Evolution Group, we expanded into six US states, launched in Canada, and entered the Brazilian market as part of its regulated rollout. The compliance infrastructure and global operator relationships that Evolution brings have opened markets that would have taken years to reach independently. Our game identity remained unchanged throughout that expansion.
Where We Are Licensed
Our games reach players across regulated markets through a network of licensed operators. We hold direct licences from the following regulatory bodies.
| Licence | Regulator | Jurisdiction |
| MGA/B2B/299/2015 | Malta Gaming Authority | Malta and EU markets |
| UKGC | UK Gambling Commission | Great Britain |
| SGA | Swedish Gambling Authority | Sweden |
| AGCO | Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario | Ontario, Canada |
| ONJN | National Office for Gambling, Romania | Romania |
Beyond these direct licences, our titles are certified for operation in Italy, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, and multiple US states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Every title we release clears independent RNG testing and full regulatory review before it reaches any operator lobby.
UK players access our full catalog through UKGC-licensed casino operators. Bonus Buy functionality is restricted at UK-licensed sites in line with UKGC regulations, but all game mechanics and RTP configurations remain available through standard play.
